Jellybean Machine is a meditation on childhood wonder and the bright, irrepressible spirit that lives inside it. The title comes from the simple delight of jellybeans—vivid, playful, and abundant.

The work reflects the freedom and joy children experience instinctively: color without restraint, sweetness without apology, imagination without limits. In that way, the piece becomes a quiet celebration of the child’s spirit and its enduring presence within us.

Rendered in soft pastel on cotton rag, the surface carries a luminous depth and softness unique to the medium. The work is framed under museum glass, preserving the richness of the pastel while allowing the color and
